Hello, my name is Pastor David Hemphill. It is my delight to serve as the Pastor of the Valley Baptist Church of Oswego, IL. The Lord called my family here after graduating from Crown College in Powell, TN where Dr. Clarence Sexton is the Pastor of the Temple Baptist Church. I finished a four year Bachelor’s degree as well as my Master’s degree at Crown Seminary. I am very thankful for the ministry of Dr. Clarence Sexton and its great influence on my life.
I was saved in my early twenties while living in southern California. I was invited to the Faith Baptist Church of Canoga Park, CA. It was there that my life was forever changed. I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my heart and forgive me of my sin. What a wonderful day!
For over ten years I worked in the Regency Baptist Church in Orangevale, CA. My brother-in-law, Pastor Stephen Ray Nichols, is the man of God in this church. I was given the opportunity to serve in many different capacities. These duties included: Sunday school superintendant, soul-winning director, mission’s director as well as leading the singing and filling the pulpit on occasion. In July of 2002, God allowed my family the opportunity to go to Bible College.
We are delighted to serve God here at the Valley Baptist Church. The Bible says in Eph 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,…” I had no idea how wonderful this would be until I met these wonderful people here in Illinois.
We are looking forward to seeing what great things God is going to do here at VBC. The goal of the Valley Baptist Church is to lift the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as stated in John 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”
If you are in the area, please drop by and visit this heartwarming church. I pray that you will feel at home just like my family and I did when we came to visit. If I can be of any assistance to you or your family please call me at (630)554-8109 or you can e-mail me at [email protected]
May the Lord bless you in everything you do for Him,
David Hemphill, Pastor
John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
